SUMMER PROGRAM

Earn a master's degree in TESL in three summers.

Inter American University of Puerto Rico’s campus in San Germán, Puerto Rico, offers an intensive MA-TESL Summer Program that allows teachers to work towards their degree during summers.  Participants of the Summer Program have the opportunity to be part of a select and uniquely diverse group of teachers from Puerto Rico, the US, and other countries.

Summer Program participants can complete the 36-credit course requirement of the program by taking a total of 12 courses during three consecutive summers: two courses each June and two each July.  The comprehensive exam will be administered when coursework has been completed.

The goals of the Summer Program are the following:

Students who wish to live in a dormitory with other participants of the program should apply for housing by the end of April of the year they intend to attend.

Tentative Rotating Summer Program Course offerings

Every summer a set of four courses is offered: two core courses, one core elective, and one prescribed distributive requirement.  Each set of four courses will be offered every three years, so that during any three consecutive summers students can complete their coursework (a total of six core courses, three core electives, and three prescribed distributive requirements).
