Guide for manuscripts to be submitted to:

The Revista/Review
Interamericana is a bilingual journal published once or twice a year by
Inter American
University of Puerto
Rico in San Germán. The Revista accepts for
publication, subject to the approval of the Editorial Advisory Board,
unpublished manuscripts in English or in Spanish on Latin American,
particularly on Puerto Rico and the rest of the Caribbean
area. Articles in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are
reviewed for publication as long as they are understandable to an educated
reader who is not a specialist in the discipline. Also considered for
publication are short stories, essays, book reviews and poetry.
Articles and Review
Essays:
No more than 8,000
words (approximately 25 pages). Type double-spaced, with one-inch margins
all around. Submit three hard copies plus a 3.5" diskette in Word
Perfect or Word for Windows, IBM compatible.
Title, author's name,
address and institutional affiliation should appear only on the cover page.
Upon acceptance of an article or other work, an author's form and a
copyright release will be sent out.
Authors can use
footnote or endnotes. Style for citations, footnotes/endnotes and
bibliographies/references should follow The Chicago Manual of Style or The MLA
Style Manual. If the article will include art or graphs, the same should be
provided in camera-ready format, with proper indication as to their
position in the text.
Book Reviews:
No more than 2,000
words. Authors should send three hard copies plus a 3.5" diskette in
Word Perfect or Word for Windows, IBM compatible.
Title, author's name,
address and institutional affiliation should appear only on the cover page.
Upon acceptance of an article or other work, an author's form and a
copyright release will be sent out.
Short Stories:
Same as articles above,
but maximum of 3500 words (approximately 10 pages).
Poems:
Five poems minimum to
be submitted per author. Poems should be submitted exactly as the author
wishes them to appear, including indentations and double-spaces between
stanzas. If the poem continues to more than one page, make sure to indicate
if there is a double-space before the page break.
Authors should send
three hard copies plus a 3.5" diskette in Word Perfect or Word for
Windows, IBM compatible.

Upon acceptance of an article or other work, an author's form and a
copyright release will be sent out.
Material submitted to
the Revista will NOT be returned unless specifically requested.
