Dr. T. Chavez-Gil is currently Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Inter American University of Puerto Rico, San German Campus. He’s lecturer of General, Organic, Inorganic I, and Advanced Inorganic Chemistry. Before became to UIPR, was Assistant Professor of Chemistry at University of Los Andes (Bogota, D.C – Colombia) where though Organic Chem and laboratories of General, Organic and Physical-Chemistry. Was advisor of Bachelor’s Degree Thesis on Water Oxidant Photosystem II (PSII) Complex. Between 2000 - 2002, was Associate Researcher at University of Puerto Rico (Mayaguez) engaged in anticancer derivatives from Ti(IV) and Mo(IV) metallocenes (bioinorganic & bioorganometallic) in a project sponsored by the NIH. He won a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) award in biopharmaceutical sciences on physical chemistry of pharmaceuticals with Prof. M. Goto, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kumamoto University (Japan) 1997-1999. His research interest ranging from Inorganic Synthesis of Macromolecules to Bioinorganic Systems with potential applications in Medicine Chemistry.
